Logos. The Word Became Flesh.

What are logos?

Logos in Greek means word, idea, thought, principle, or speech. Let’s refer to John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

In the beginning was Logos, and the Word was with Logos, and the Word was Logos.

According to Oxford Dictionary, a logo is a symbol or other small design adopted by an organization to identify its products, uniform, vehicles, etc.

We know logos today as these looming signifiers of corporate entities and organizations. Humans have always formed collective partnerships, and have used logos to identify, design, and inspire their direction. A logo can also be considered a talisman or idol, to whom respects are paid in place of the nebulous concept of the company. Eventually logos can grow and achieve vague and ominous stature.

Through the mind, the word and the flesh are connected. This is the power of words, thoughts, shapes, and forms.

John 1:1 comes from Papyrus 66 of the Bodmer papyri, found in Egypt in 1952. It is one of the oldest well-preserved manuscripts of the New Testament in existence.
